HISTORY OF THE SITE

PIMISHKA Domaine nature is built on the grounds of Deer Lodge, a former outfitter that enjoyed a heyday in the 1960s when it was home to wealthy American fishermen and hunters. Although the remnants of the logging camps and the old restaurant are no longer visible, there is still an atmosphere of good cheer, vacation and relaxation. Many Bouchette residents remember those days. They do not hesitate to tell their memories of the dances and the people they met there.

In 1996, a group of local investors developed a tourist accommodation project including an inn and cottages. The site was soon sold to a group of individuals, depriving visitors to the Gatineau Valley of a fantastic place.

However, all the vacationers on the lake will tell you that they noticed this magnificent piece of land overlooking the lake, with its sandy beach and white cottages. In the summer of 2022, a group of individuals from the same family, from the Outaouais region, saw an opportunity to develop an outdoor village, thus renewing the offer of accommodation and four-season nature activities.
